  • The Boeing 747.

Well. Now that I have confessed that I know Kai Tak only from photos, I can also say that my knowledge about the 747 goes a little bit deeper. As I sometimes say, 45 years of aviation stories don't fit into one SMS, but often, I really try it.
Until I have a new Beech B200 quiz question, let's try this topic. Thank God, Randazzo has also published her again for p3dv4.5 ... My favorite aircraft of all times.
    type: B744,
    airac: 1702.
flight number: private, entered as LH#171, ...

Beautiful enough, it could exist without words. But without my help you probably will never find the route. So, there are routefinders in the internet which do not know
the shortest way from Rhein/Main to Ted Stevens International, and they try to send you eastwards, via Kiruna.
And then I start my computer, which not only contains the shortest route, westwards, but my computer is also able to assume the official German command
'Under all circumstances, avoid the airspace East of Kiruna!' .
This picture was taken relatively late, the pond already behind us.

So, for an aviation quiz question I have another picture. First of all, the picture, then the question.

This is a German airport. Name it: A Friedrichshafen - B Lohausen Intl - C Egelsbach EDFE - D Speyer.
Colors which seem to have been made only for the 19.4 m high tailfin. Which is not true, it also fits for the 19.3 m high tailfin...

PS: Oops. If you need one of these pictures rather in 1080p than in 2200p, then you can ask the photographer, which in both cases is me. Sorry,
even with such a tiny camera, the original pictures are 4K, almost!
Last edited by LH-B744; 2023-03-26, 01:00. Reason: I can replace it with a 1080p version this sunday, if necessary...

Is this my first jetphoto here, after all those years, with original exif data? Exposure 1/1300, not bad for such a tiny camera.

And yes, it was late June 2022, when you could assume a brighter light.
But 17:00 in the afternoon. Yes, I arrived quite late at the airport, 13:56:09 if this computer ticket right in front of me displays the correct time...

And I still owe a five star °°°°° rating to this airport, if they like it, after all those weeks.

PS: As my last aviation picture quiz (Beech B200) obviously was a little bit too difficult, now I like to help you a little bit. It is an airport where the water is near.
Very near, the river Rhine. Now that could be all four answers... But not when I'm allowed to show two more pictures, this time 1280p,
for better convenience on really small screens, although, I've never in my life tried to open jetphotos on a smartphone.
However, here my help for you,

..and one of only a few airports where a rather big four engined propeller of Ukraine origin
(upper right corner, with the name Antonov it really becomes too simple)
shares her parking position with pedestrians (lower right corner ) and a ship.

Hm. The next step would be to directly link this Douglas DC-6 pilot to these photos. The joke is, I'm 100% sure that he reads everything which I write. And he also is not the only man between avsim (oops) and this platform who knows the answer. Probably it is too obvious.

Well, so it is again up to me to solve this picture quiz? Yes, if you like to call me the Quiz Mastr . To the left, you see the Gedächtniskirche zu Speyer, and to the right it is
the St. Joseph church of Speyer.

The answer for the picture quiz here in my #1 obvious is.. answer D - Speyer.
      a/c type: Boeing 747-200
      reg: D-ABYM
      airport: EDRY Speyer.

I just wonder, is it the age, or the moment in the year, or why do I sometims look for the bible. I know a quite old saying, in every hotel room there is a bible for you. Which is not true for all German hotel rooms, and not either for my bedroom. Although I own at least two bibles, probably a good moment to find them, well hidden like an Easter Egg..
        Back on topic.
As far as I remember, I started this topic with a real 747 destination, and nevertheless one or two people still wonder where the following pictures have been taken.

Well, also for these people, here is the answer for the question. In p3dv4.5 it is called the gate November 2, which I have already corrected, because with the p3dv4 stock airport, and with a B744, I always had the problem that the right wing tip somehow destructs a portion of the North Terminal . So this already is, based on aerial images, the corrected version:
Click image for larger version Name:	Jetphotos Upload 087.jpg Views:	0 Size:	888.1 KB ID:	1157988

The Ted Stevens International Airport of Anchorage, Alaska, gate N2 on the North Terminal (on arrival), with real weather of the year 2023. Visibility 16 km, or 8, so that we are not able to see
each and every hill behind the 7R. But as a winter child, this is my weather:

I so very much love this bird!

PS: Especially with the lights on my favorite aircraft of all times, Cpt Randazzo again has shown what he's able to do. Before my eyes, he makes me think that the difference between a simulator and reality vanishes. Or, especially with the second picture, would you think that this is pure fiction?

Created within my computer, with the help of Randazzo. He again did magic, with the v3!

5 or 10 year ago, I must have said that there is only one man who is able to teach me another foreign language. And this is the result.

Do kanns zaubere, Wolfgang Niedecken (together with BAP). Only once or twice in my whole life I have confessed that I like Mr Niedecken, but isn't that astonishing, with my home airport?

          Btw, Happy Birthday, Mr Niedecken.

PS: Since almost one hour I've just wondered which happening was first in my life, the word 'Hanomag' and the picture which comes with it,
or the song about the Hanomag: Maat et joot (1987).
I have probably one thing in common with Mr Niedecken, I could now spontaneously draw a typical Hanomag. But what does that say about my age..

Another good recommendation is, view the complete (!) lyrics always with the artist himself. This is what I did, and after 35 years I finally understand
what Maat et joot is really about, even without German translation.. What do I always say, 64 km between these two airports,
I assume that there is a minimum of understanding.

Hm. Most men on this planet somewhen see where they belong to, also virtually. Often, not always, but very often this is the place where they made their first contact with aviation.
Since today, I'm 100% sure that this is the jetphotos platform, the place where I virtually made my first contact with aviation.
            More than 15 years ago.
And since today I even know one more reason why I still like jetphotos. I don't quite know if it had become more than 15 years for me and almost 2000 entries, when I had to ask Alex
everytime when I like to remove one of my own photos here in my own topic, or even when I like to correct one of my rather bad English sentences... (!)

There are other places in the internet where obviously exists a very strict 2 hour limit also for longtime users to edit their own posts.
But in my eyes, there must be a difference. Here at jetphotos I know moderators which due to retirement are no longer good moderators, without that I mention names...

So very long is my history here on this platform. And in my eyes it would be ridiculous to ask Gabriel or me, to always involve Alex when we like to alter one of our posts.

But there is another reason why I now know for sure that I'm a jetphotos man,
and probably not an avsim man (oops). Also on this other big aviation platform, I own an account,
            since more than 10 years.

And this other big platform obviously is the preferred platform also for very interesting people, e.g. the Douglas DC-6 pilot which I sometimes here talk about. But since today, I know
his Join Date for the other platform, which is the year 2020.

So there are two reasons to invite him here to jetphotos. On the other platform, I am the better longtime user (since 2010), if there exists something like that and I don't insist on such a title,
and here on my internet aviation home platform, I'm able to show him everything that he must know to become a good jetphotos member.

Since I have seen him on this other platform, I somethimes wonder how old he could be. From the year 1967, but that is only a rough guess. One comment now could be,
you're never too old to discover your enthusiasm for aviation, one man discovers it in 2008 (or before, offline), the other man in 2020. For me and my friend Gabriel quite astonishing,
that you wait so long to publish your enthusiasm for aviation.
For me that would mean that until today I had never written one word in the internet about my enthusiasm for aviation, not before my 53rd birthday.

That is - even with one minute to think about it- unimaginable.

But lieber spät als nie, as we say in Germany!

Very dear greetings again to this Douglas DC-6 pilot.

            And now back on topic.

PS: This Douglas DC-6 pilot doesn't get out of my mind this night.. 1967. Must've been one of the best years (besides 1969 when my avatar was invented),
not only for aviation but also for music (!). Yesterday (tuesday) afternoon I was en route, and on my way home I had a very tenacious earworm, and I thought, It would be hell if this song is not to be found in my playlist. And these are the results:
            The Turtles - Eleonore (1968_),
and, there is always at least one brilliant song which is older than you,
The Beach Boys - Help me, Rhonda (1965).
Quite rarely played on the radio, both (!). But who on the radio would be able to play songs who are older than 40 years
if not on the night shift...

Another aviation & music (since more than 40 years) ..
Willie Nelson - Always on my Mind (1982).

Since I know that Mr Nelson (*1933) is from Texas, I really strongly work on my substitute for the p3dv4.5 stock airport of the KAUS Austin Bergstrom Intl airport. You better don't ask me why,
Mr Nelson is only the second man who here on this platform makes me think about Texas...
And who now was the first contact with the state of Texas in my life, it was Mr Nelsons younger colleague.
Kenny Rogers & Sheena Easton - We've got tonight (1983).

And until one minute ago I still thought that Lee Majors (*1939) is from Texas, which is not quite the truth. But here he's still famous for his role
as Colonel Steve Austin (1973-1978_), that's probably how I mixed up somthin..
