  • Gatwick-Tenerife Part I

Britannia 26A, B767-300 charter service from London Gatwick (EGKK) to Tenerife Sofia (GCTS). Hope you enjoy 'em.

    Part I: Gatwick Departure

Overview of Gatwick about 7:40am local time (0640 GMT). Not much moving around at this point, but JMC and a couple others are taxiing out to 08R for departure.

In the cockpit on the stand, with the FMC route fully loaded. Note the TCAS traffic flying near Gatwick on the IVSI.

Pushing back, engine no.1 starting up.

A JMC 757 blasts off runway 08R as Delta 12, an MD-11, arrives. We're holding on taxiway Juliett to allow Flystar 279 to join the taxiway ahead of us.

Must be BA hour at Gatwick! A Speedbird 737 lands on 08R as BAe146 and B737 also of BA hold short.

Quite a lineup behind us as well. The Maersk 737 looks nice!

Must be U.S. arrival time at Gatwick -- Continental 28, a 777-200, arriving on 08R as we hold short.

Another U.S. arrival -- American 174 lands shortly after Continental.

American has cleared the runway, and we're cleared for takeoff. Accelerating through 80 knots down runway 08R.

In the turn southward on the SID, climbing away from Gatwick.

Approaching Britain's south shore, climbing through about FL160.

Left turn direct ORTAC, climbing through FL310 to FL350.

Nor can I. Neither in this nor in the other one.
