"turn left heading 360" I dont really have a clue what to do there! Also,my auto pilots are not that great so the plane will steadly climb and then the atc starts telling me to go lower and higher depending how im flying
      -the maps really helps

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. If im flying within a short area, like SFO-SJC or MSP-RST, i usually dont. I usually do on longer flights. Although sometimes I wait 10 minutes to get clearance from clearance delivery if im at ORD or EGLL at peak times and I find that annoying, so I won't do a FP comming out of those airports.

If Im flying around one airport just to do takeoffs and landings I'll just slew myself all over the place. However, in VATSIM, we're required to file if IFR so I do so

I always create a flightplan, but always leave it on VFR, as I can't ATC's directions.

Same here. Their IFR routings are weird. For example you'll be on course for your destination at heading 050, then they'll tell you to turn left heading 360 (even though your next waypoint is straight a head of you in 60nm). Two minutes later they'll come back to you and ask to turn back on to a heading of 050. I'm like... what was the point in that?

Dale, they try and keep you on the green line (in the GPS) as far as possible. So when the line shifts by even a couple of degrees, it appears as if the plane is drifting to the left/right, and ATC makes you do the quick turn and turn back to get you back on the line.
"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

Ah okay. I usually just round the heading off to every 5 degrees. Example, if the GPS says HDG 133 I'll fly at HDG 135. Saves having to keep coming back the the PC and turn one degree every few minutes

Flight Plan, unless I'm just doing takeoffs or landings, which is when I do VFR.
