  • Airport Scenery/Jetways

I need airport scenery, I have some AFCAD files for DTW, MSP, CLT,and a few other airports. When I try to load them into FS2004, nothing shows up. No jetways, no detail, nothin! And I really want jetways!!!! I'm obviously doing this wrong. What is the correct way to put scenery into FS? The scenery I have didn't come with directions, so that's why I'm posting.
    Thanks!

the AFCAD isn't what gives you jetways...
It's the actual scenery model that gives you the jeyways. Try turning the Scenery Complexity all the way up.

Jetways are only included in a select few default airports. Go to Avsim and find a ll the scenery you need and follow the instructions to install it. BTW, you're going to need a new AFCAD if you want the AI traffic to be compatible with the addon scenery.

Currently their is only a freeware scenery for CLT, for both DTW and MSP you're going to have to give into payware designers.

The following list includes the "enhanced" default airports - which in most cases includes jetways, enhanced building models and satellite scenery:

SEA, JFK, NRT, LHR, CDG, MIA and ORD (I think), SYD, DEN.

ORD does have jetways on FS2004. I remember seeing them.

Luckily, scenery has been made to replace most of the default airports - especially the best of them all is FlyTampa who seems to have better frames than the default.

Ya I've found that too with FlySan Francisco. I wonder how good frame rates would be with no AI traffic.

I'm sure if the area didn't come with all the buildings from the surrounding areas, you could probably get framerates in the high teens/low twenties.

With no traffic at FlyTampa SFO I get about 25-30 FPS

I would give simflyers.net at try. I know there working on MSP. I downloaded IAH and also download PAI's Continental Express and Continental AI and it looked so real. The best part is the jetways will ajust themselves to what type of plane you have.
