  • AFCAD Files

When I download scenery for an airport, and they include an AFCAD, or other files that are "scenery" and "texture" files... what am I supposed to do with it?

put the afcad file in your "Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\Scenery" folder

OK, I'm completely lost... I have no idea what I'm doing with this whole AFCAD thing. Do I need a special program? Can someone give me a quick crash course in this?

I put the afcad file in the addon scenery/scenery folder, and I fire up FS2004 and nothing is any different about the airport that I added the file for... Am I supposed to do something else too?

no, you do not need any special programs, or to do anything else.

AFCAD files only affect certain elements of the airport.
        They affect,
        where the taxiways are
the ground (taxiway, runway, apron) lighting
the dimensions and shape of the apron surface
where the parking spots are, and what airline(s)/aircraft(s) can park there
NDB's and navaids (such as NDBs VORs, ILSs etc)

Keep in mind that AFCAD filed DO NOT alter any 3D elements such as taxiway signs or buildings

        I think thats it
