  • Air Canada A343 NC CYYT-TNCM

It's been a while for me. Last Sunday, I finally had time to do a flight. I used the highest quality settings, and everything was perfect. I took a lot of screenshots. Then as I exited FS, I realized with horror that I forgot to open FSScreen.

So today, I decided to duplicate the same flight, and here it is.

    Air Canada Flight 626*
St John's, Canada - St Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

*Special charter flight carrying vacationing Newfies from the frigid Canadian winter to sunny SXM.

Sitting on the frozen YYT tarmac on a cold winter morning, waiting for passengers.

Taxiing to Runway 16 via Runway 27. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard Air Canada Flight 626 with non-stop service to St Maarten. You can take off your sixteen layers of parkas now."

Lined up and ready to go at Runway 16. It's quite a short runway, so we are spooling up with full brakes applied.

    Rotate!

Starting a left turn after climbing out from 16.

A beautiful scene prior to sunrise.

    Another moon shot.

    Sunrise.

    Beautiful morning light.

A few minutes later. A different hue.

Cruising over the Atlantic at 32,000 feet. I really like this livery now.

After we've begun our descent into SXM.

Big turn near the end of the flight.

    Final over clam blue waters.

A little high by SXM standards.

Seconds before touchdown. Fighting a gust of wind.

A different perspective, taken by Sam Chui in a small-prop flyover.

    Smokey touchdown!

Turning around at the end of the runway. "Ladies and gents, welcome to St Maarten. Thank you for choosing Air Canada. We hope to serve you again when you decide to fly back to the freezer."

Hope you guys enjoyed the shots. Comments welcome...no, comments mandatory.

So that's why you were asking me about the lens flare tool

Great shots Will, good choice of destination too!

Believe it or not, that is still my 64 MB p.o.s video card that came with my HP desktop.

Yes indeed. And you know, if I can't go there in person, might as well go there "virtually".

I'm still waiting to see some real shots though.

Per airport regulations, you turned the wrong way at the end of the runway to backtrack.

Arriving aircraft are required to make a right 180 at the end of the runway to direct their jetblast away from the nearby hotels just south of the runway!

Anyway, excellent background scenario supported by equally nice screenies.
