I have IL2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles Gold ($19.99 at Futureshop) and I recommend it. If I got time, I will post a screenshot.

Bailing out after a sharp-shooting gunner from a B17 shot up my bird. Graphics-wise, it is on par with fs2004.

I cant take credit for any of these. They were all made by others for a screenshot contest. I havent really played it in a while, though it is still on my harddrive...

True that...and it is less CPU intensive as well.

Some delightful screenies there ... bringing some changes. All are really great, as for the cake, my top candidate is this trio of Nakajima "Kate" torpedo bombers rushing to targets.

isn't the Kate Torpedo Bomber from Pacific Fighters?

according to the IL2 website, IL2 modles the war in eastern europe, while Pacific Fighters is the war in the Pacific.

Pacific Fighters is the IL-2 engine put in the Pacific....there are options to install them together, allowing you to take your Wildcat and shoot down Me-109s escorting Kates!

dneedham I'm in love with the screenie you posted with the Bf 109's. The image just reinforces my belief that the Bf 109 was the best combat aircraft of WWII. Visually the 109 commands respect with its sharp no nonsense edges, the Allied fighter aircraft with their curvy baby like edges simply can't be compared. An allied pilot seeing a 109 approaching from the distance knew he had a fight on his hands thatís for sure.
