  • ILS Landings?

Can anyone provide me with an idiots guide to landing the Boeing 737-400 on FS2004 using ILS?

I have to make visual landings because I don't know how ILS works and the tower never lines you up with the runway accurately enough.

Also, how come when you go to Tower view it never actually is a Tower view?

    Read this:

It's for FS2002, but it should be very similar in FS2004 too.
"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

yeah, that tutorial is reallt good, its for FS8, but the same ideas apply in FS9, and for ILS in general

Well, I gave it a try, with massive improvements! Although I think the ILS was trying to do something and I disagreed and did something else.

I was told to descend to 3,000ft so I did, and I left the autopilot on even until after I'd landed, and I still don't know if the ILS descended the aircraft for me! I fell short of the runway but it was spot on centerline!

When I taxi though I can't control the aircraft, I can't keep it in a reasonably straight line it either goes very left or very right, how do I fix this?

For me, its always a manual, visual, hand ladnign. The hell with ILS, I flew the flight to land the damn thing by my self! ahaha. After a while youll get the hang of it, like I did, now its nothing but centerlines.

Make sure Autorudder is disabled...you can do that in the realism settings or options or something.

I noticed something during my ILS landing last night, on the monitor where the crs is displayed (not the autopilot controls) there was a airspeed displayed, and it was almost constantly changing. Is this the airspeed I'm supposed to be flying at?
