Hi folks,
Thought I'd take us back a couple of years when My Travel's old DC-10s operated frequently to and from Manchester. I decided to route her from a very scenic Innsbruck to Manchester, operating a winter charter flight. I stuck the GE CF6-50Cv2 Soundset (which can be found at Avsim.com) on this aircraft too. It sounds superb and very realistic, although the loading times are very frequent and occasionally very long, mainly when adjusting the power setting.
Anyway, on with the screenshots....
Aircraft: McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30
Airline: My Travel
Registration: G-BYDA
Flight Number: MYT198
Departure Airport: Innsbruck (LOWI)
Arrival Airport: Manchester (EGCC)
Cruise Altitude: FL320
Cruise Speed: Mach .82
At the gate waiting for the final passengers and luggage to be loaded.
Seen just after push back and engine start. A smokey one for number two!...
Just about to spool up those three CF6-50 engines as we line up on Rwy 08 for takeoff.
Raw DC-10 power!... This one has to be my favourite of the bunch. Thought I'd upload this one at 1024 wide
The GE CF6-50Cv2 Soundset screams away as we use almost every foot of Rwy 08 to get airbourne. Time to duck?....
The classic Innsbruck shot!...
Well into the climb now as we leave Innsbruck in our jetwash.
Banking left to head north for Manchester.
At our cruise altitude of 32,000ft as the flight crew tuck in to their virtual meal
Passing a First Choice B757 who's heading south, somewhere over Belgium.
Brussels Int'l (EBBR), as seen from FL320.
BA 744 a couple of thousand feet above us over northern Belgium.
The Office....
Cruising over the English Channel.
Commencing our descent shortly after passing the waypoint LOGAN.
Raising the speedbrakes slightly while passing by Nottingham East Midlands airport (on the right).
Overflying the snowy Pennines as we begin our final descent to 2,500ft.
On final approach for Manchester's Rwy 24R in full landing configuration.
Here she comes!.... Love the DC-10 from this angle
Sailing in low over the houses of Ringway Road.
Heads up!...
Touching down on Manchester soil.
Flaps, reversers and spoilers fully deployed in order to slow this big bird down.
Passing by the Aviation Viewing Park, the spotters look very interested
Parked at the gate with passengers and luggage unloading.
Well that's all until next time guys. All comments and questions welcome!
Cheers,
Dale
