  • Hopping Across The Alps

    Hi folks,

Earlier today I took a quick flight over the Alps from Geneva to La Mole, a favourite and common route for many who are fortunate enough to own a Bizjet. Anyways, on with the screenies....

    Aircraft: Gulfstream G-IV
    Airline: Private (World Travel)
    Registration: G-BIZZ
    Flight Number: WDT001
    Departure Airport: Cointrin/Geneva (LSGG)
    Arrival Airport: La Mole (LFTZ)
    Cruise Altitude: FL250
    Cruise Speed: Mach .71
    ATD: 12:00
    ATA: 12:42

Parked on the ramp making final preperations for departure.

Two positive engine starts, we're ready for taxi.

World Travel 001, cleared for takeoff Runway 23, wind 248 degrees at 6kts.

    Positive climb, gear up.

Keeping it nice and low for a fast and furious fly-by along Rwy 23

Beginning our steep climb at the very end of the runway.

Banking left out of Geneva to head south.

Some great sights to be seen from here.

At our cruise altitude of 25,000ft now.

Already beginning our descent for La Mole, with France's Côte d'Azur insight.

Overflying Nice Airport whilst flying along the coastline.

Now on final approach over St. Tropez.

On short final with a rather large hill just before the runway threshold, does St. Barths spring to mind?

    Shot from the hill.

    Dive bombing for Rwy 24.

....As seen from the Captain's seat.

Getting up close and personal as we're just a matter of feet from touchdown.

Firmly touching down on Rwy 24.

Looks like someone made a mess back there

Sitting in the hot sun of St. Tropez.

That's all 'til next time folks.

    All comments and questions welcome

Yeah I found a package on Avsim and to my suprise there was a model, panel and sound etc file in there so I chose to slightly modify the one featured in the screenshots above (changed the reg and added the St. George's flag) and fly it.

Great shots as usual Dale! Will have to try that route out

Maxpower - It's because it's an AI model the engines are like that

and AI planes are like that because of the minimal LOD for increased framerate friendliness
