As some of you know, I am currently in the process of launching my third VA, Angel Cargo. I have had two previous failed attempts.

My Dad has given a strong hint that he might allow me to upgrade from GeoCities Free to GeoCities Pro which supports PHP, Perl and MySQL and comes with a free domain name. If I do purchase GeoCities Pro, I will do so on the hope that I will become a major player in the VA market, and Angel Cargo would not feature in this plan (although I will keep Angel Cargo going).

In order to do all of this, I am going to need all the help I can get which is why I've posted my business plan (below) on these forums for you guys to scrutinize.

    Main Base Operation:
    London Heathrow

    Secondary Base Operation(s):
    None

    Aircraft Types:
    Airbus A330-243
    Airbus A321-231
    Airbus A320-232
    Airbus A319-132
    Embraer E175

    Aircraft Types On Order:
    Airbus A350XWB-800
    Embraer E190

    Subsidiaries:
Regional Division (Operating the Embraers listed above)
    Technical Division
    Ground Handling Division

Obviously the business plan above is a little vague because I don't have a name for the VA yet, hence the attachment of a poll to this thread - I would like you to help me form part of the name by selecting an option on the poll above.

    Thanks.

IMHO your starting off with a big fleet. At the start of your VA you should operate one or two aircraft types, then get a few more a few weeks/months later.

Fleet numbers shouldn't be too much of a problem, I'll work out all schedules and other complicated areas prior to parting with money.

EDIT: Below are the fleet numbers, 18 aircraft in total:

      3x Airbus A330
      3x Airbus A321
      3x Airbus A320
      3x Airbus A319
      6x Embraer E175

Also, so I can begin work on a livery, can you please help me think up a name? I intend to eventually be the BD or BA of the VA world, so the name must represent that.

For all you guys help I'm going to do a JP.net Forums logojet.

Why not base a A332 at YYZ, then use that for onward legs to ORD, LAX and JFK from the LHR arrival. Would perhaps help your distrubution and make it more economically viable.

            Just a thought.
            Regards

Nah, that sounds a little complicated.

As for a name, I'm thinking something which represents speed and luxury, if anyone can think of something like that? I'm no good with names.

Ok, after days of non-stop thought, and with the assistance of a few people, I've got my name and motto! The below logo is just one of a number being considered. I'll make more information available shortly (including a livery).

In the real world you'd be getting a few calls from JetBlue's lawyers.

Straight to the point. Your VA isn't going to work, hardly any of them do and if they do there proffesianl one's etc... If you keep changing airlines every time you get one or two members people will just get bored of you making them.

Your better off not using Geocities and getting a server from like IXwebhosting (www.ixwebhosting.com) and programming your website yourself, if you can find a program like Dreamweaver. Or just do it the old fashioned way, myself, I use Dreamweaver, its an amazing tool.
