  • Concorde World Tour

    Hi Folks

I've just been given Concorde: 27 years of supersonic flight as a gift and it follows Concorde's 1999 round the world trip - which then made me want to do it.

Here's screenies from the first leg. The aircraft was British Airways Concorde Alpha Charlie (G-BOAC)

John F Kennedy International (KJFK)- Vancouver International (CYVR)

    Taxing out to runway 4R.

JetBlue A320 on short final at JFK just before we take off.

    Entering the active.

Taking off with a China Airlines 747-400 taxing to the holding point for 4R.

    Leaving JFK in the distance.

Climbing over Manthattan with Lady Liberty far off down river!

    Visor retracting.

    Mach One.

    Supersonic Acceleration over Canada.

Afterburners on as we maintain our "Climb Crawl".

Heading correction to maintain our flightpath.

Overtaking an American MD-83 10,000ft below

Travelling faster than the Earth's rotation!!

    Mach 2.00 cruise over Canada.

    To hell with noise abatement.

    Final Approach to YVR.

Touch Down at Vancouver International Airport.

Vancouver International, British Columbia (CYVR) to Kona International, Hawaii (PHKO) coming soon.
    Regards

    Scott

It's the Koch Media "Altitude" Concorde.
Really need to learn how to edit like you, Patryk!

          Here's Vancouver to Kona

          Pushing back at YVR.

Lining up and waiting on 26R for Air Canada 8 Heavy to take off.

          Gear Up.

Climbing to 16000 over Vancouver Island.

The result of a few dodgy curries that BA are feeding their Concorde crews.

          Crusing at FL600, Mach 2.00.

          Approaching Hawaii.

This is what happens when I don't want to have to be the one to Go Around.

On final with an unmistakable shadow below.

          Aloha!

          Parked at the gate.

View from the open-air departure area at Kona.

Next trip: Kona, Hawaii to Nadi, Fiji.

          Thanks Guys.
          Regards

                      Thanks for the messages guys.

Here's Kona to Nadi (Sorry if the shots are seeming boring - not many differences you can get between shots when flying the same aircraft over the same ocean for 2 days :-S - Hopefully be flying over land soon anyway!

A shot of Alpha Charlie from the open air departure lounge at Kona.

                      Blasting off Runway 17.

Turning southwest, beginning our 3 hour flight across the South Pacific.

                      Accelerating, Concorde style.

                      Visor Up, passing 10,000 feet.

                      Climbing towards FL550

Chasing Daylight - flying southwest, during a 3 hour 'dusk'.

                      Under my wing....

Turning onto the approach for Nadi.

                      Final.

                      Parked at the stand.

Next up is Nadi Intl, Fiji to Sydney Kingsford Smith Intl, Australia
                      Regards
