  • 737NG home cockpit update

    [photoid=6804999]

    In celebration of the 1 year anniversary of the start of construction (21 Mar 2009), here's a photo showing the progress of my 737NG home cockpit in that time. Pretty neat to be able to walk from the family room to the living room and take for a ride, for sure!

    Hope you enjoy the shot!

            The shot looks very real. It's come on leaps and bounds over the recent months.

            I still can't get over how realistic it feels when sat in there! I want another go in it! hehe

              Why did you choose a 737?

              I like Fsx, but the 737 is no challenge. Far too easy to fly/land, and too slow. Taking off the 747 a 'tad' abowe MTOW and landing it far above max landing weight onto a much too short runway, is my kind of fun.

              Can't do that in a 737

              Anyway, looks great

              Okay, I'm just envious

                I can take my 737 (realistically) into a whole host of cooler airports - Santos Dumont, Dutch Harbor, Sucre, and Toncontin to name just a few - than I could a 747.

                Okay, and there's a lot more 737NG stuff available out there for home cockpits than 744!

                I do like doing things realistically, though, and some of my most enjoyable flights are intra-Europe 737 runs, etc. Can't do that in a 744 if you want to maintain realism.

                    Could you tell me a little bit about the hardware? What specs are running those screens? Is it like a normal PC in the way that you can sit in the cockpit & have Win 7 or whatever up on those screens?
