I have about 230 of them...but the only reason I bought them was to use at a scale airport. Smaller scale + cheapness = more planes at the airport.

To me the biggest distraction on them is the landing gear- same reason I have decided to go only with the newer Gemini Jets models...I know Herpa has the NG landing gear, but overall I think the quality of Gemini's are better...
Then again I just compared a few at a hobby shop and made my choice...so...

Unfortunatley my airport (a 12x6ft plywood base with painted taxiways/runways and a balsa wood terminal) had to be abandoned when I moved to France

Someday when I have some space, I intend to make a new one

yeah, the gear sucks....but hey, as long as they are staying on the ground, no one will notice it

Like Clovis, I'm also one of the few that collects Schabak models.

I've got about 200-220 various 1:600 models and still collect them (I picked up a LAN NC A340, QANTAS 747-400 & SAS 747-200 at the same World of Wings shop @ AMS in August). I collect them because I got a few in MIA & Seattle & really like them. Plus, like Clovis said, smaller planes + cheapness equals a bigger airport.

I've got a decent sized airport & have pics on here in another thread...they're not the greatest, but I'll post them in here if you want, Madboy.

                              Overview:

                              1 of 2 International Concourses

Cargo ramp. The lighting's bad in this room, so this is kinda dark. Your LH A340 is (blurry) in the background with the US Airways jets:

                              Delta & company:

I've had this setup for about 4 years now...used to use the floor in my room before I got the plywood.
