  • Newbie here... Help!

    Hello,

I have a thing for British Airways 747-400s and was thinking I might get meself a model of size 1:250 or something to keep around my desk...

As I said I'm very new to this and would like to know who is the "Rolls Royce" of current model plane makers and who does make them accuratley at reasonable price etc...

    Thanks.

well, I'm not sure if you'll be able to find anything in 1:250, but Herpa Wings or GeminiJets or someone probably makes one in 1:200

You can probably find snap fit models. But finding BA's ?.. Good luck.. You might try a bigger size as stated above. There's a better chance with that particular size.

I would check Hogan Wings or Long Prosper models. If you want a quality model however, you can try Atlantic Models or Executive Series models or something along those lines. They are expensive though.

Here is a Skymarks model, which is a reasonably priced snap-togeather model. It says the model is sold out discontinued, but you can likely find it elsewhere.

I'm surprised I haven't found tons more desktop BA 744 models, I would expect them to be everywhere.

Ya, I don't think it looks good either. But its surprisingly one of the only snap-fit model carriers to still have BA 744s, why so many no longer have them, I don't know.
