  • Photo location doesn't appear on the map

    Hi!

I have 4 photos uploaded taken at Ponta Grossa Airport (SBPG), but they are not appearing on the map (the first has more than 10 days). Is it a issue with the site that doesn't know where the airport is? If so, and if helps, the coordinates of the airport are 25 11 04S/050 08 38W

or, in google maps strange format: -25.184843256912053, -50.144405039656924

    best regards!

    Hi,

The reason for this is that sbpg is not in the Flightradar24 database. The map is map using coordinates from the FR24 airport database.

I can look into it and see if it can be added.

    Thanks,
    Laurence

      Hello Laurence!

      Thanks for your attention!

I understand.. So actually the problem is another: this airport do appear on FR24, but the problem is that here on JP the airport code was corrected (take a look at this topic: https://forums.jetphotos.com/forum/a...ect-3-airports)

Unfortunately FR24 database still with the old SSZW code yet. I think I'll get in touch with them via "contact us" form and ask to fix it there

I know it is not important, but this map is cool hahahaha

Can I ask to add two of my local airports too?
The first one is Kronstadt ULLY located here: https://goo.gl/maps/pj7iNdzth25Q9Uso8
The second is ULLQ helipad located here: https://goo.gl/maps/Up4ZaEYF8hc39SeB8

If its too much to ask, can you change the ICAO code for BXU (RPME)? its still using the old code (RPWE): https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airports/bxu

              Hi,

I have asked for it to be updated. May take a few days though.

              Thanks,
              Laurence

It worked hehehe. I forgot to ask them, today I saw my map and now the10 photos taken at SBPG are there. Thanks!

A question: why SBBI airport does appear on the JP map, even not being registered at FR24?

I got a picutre from SSGB accepted today, and it doesn't appaer on the map, I don't even think it will if depends on FR24, but SBBI appears.

                  Good question.

We have around 9,000 airports in the FR24 database but only around 5,000 have map pins on the main map page. The reason for this is that a lot of these airports are very small with no scheduled flights. Also, if we show a map pin for each airport, the map becomes full of pins and hard to see. We want to try to keep the map as clean as possible.

So we do have SBBI in the FR24 database but is not visible as an airport pin. It is shown on the data pages though:

                  https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airports/bfh

                  Hope that answers your question.

                      Hello Laurence, nice explanation.

I think that FR24 database is very focused in larger airports, lots of small airports/heliports are missing. In Brazil, for example, you can find the complete list of airdromes/heliports at https://aisweb.decea.mil.br/download...r_completo.pdf

But I think you may have a better way of have this information in an airac database. I like so much to take pictures on smaller undiscovered airports as I'm flying my CPL. And the map feature at Jetphotos profile is so amazing to "track" your photo history.

I use Air Navigation Pro to navigate and it contains all of the registered airports here in Brazil (I only found 2 errors and reported to them), maybe you can talk to some of these navigation app guys to take their database (?)

Some of the examples that does not appear on map:
