  • Researching "special scheme"

Is it possible to know whether "special scheme" is the appropriate category by looking at other images of the same plane in the database? I don't see that information displayed with the images, nor can I get search results that clear it up for me. Thanks.

A special scheme means, that the livery on the aircraft is somehow unique within the rest of the fleet. It can be a sticker, different color, or a completely unique paint scheme.
You can use the filtering to filter out the special schemes only.

JuklicekCZ thanks for your help. I might be missing something obvious, but I’m still unsure how to get my answers. A typical scenario for me is to have a photo of a plane that I don’t know if it’s considered “special” or not, for instance N87319. I believe they call that livery Evo-blue, but I don’t know if it qualifies as special scheme for Jetphotos. Same with the United Airlines planes with the animal tails. It seems like I should be able to look that registration up on JP and see whether it’s been classified as Special Scheme with other uploads, but I don’t see that information listed along with the other aircraft details. The search results are unreliable in answering anything beyond showing all pictures that are considered “special” even if I try to add a second filter (like putting the reg number in the keyword field, or adding an airline). Is there a way to discern the category for a particular registration?

Similarly, I’d like to be able to look at my own uploads and see which have been categorized as “special scheme” but I’m not seeing a way to do that either. Am I missing something?

Evo blue is a regular United livery so it isn't a special livery, and I'm not sure what animal tails you are referring to, but I think that is Frontier airlines and not united. There is a detailed upload guideline on the upload page as well as pinned in the forum, in there is a definition of a special livery. As for your own uploads, you will select the "special livery" category when uploading for it to be classified as one. That said, please look at the upload guideline to determine whether or not your upload is a special livery.

Thank you. I didn’t know if Evo Blue was regular scheme or not, so I was looking for a way to figure that out. The upload guidelines are a good reference but didn’t answer that specific question.
