  • Help with filter

I just ordered my Sigma 50-500mm lens. I need to find a 86mm UV filter for it and was wondering what brand I should go with? Ebay has a variety of brands from Sunpak for about $25, Hoya for about $45 & Tiffen which are a little more money.

Go with a multi-coated filter UV filter. I personally like and use Hoya's myself. They're not expensive, but well made. Multi-coated filters reflects back less light, so your pics will come out better compared to using a cheap non-multi-coated filter.

I use a Quantaray UV Multicoated. If I'm not mistaken, Quantaray is made by Hoya.

I believe the Canon-brand filters are Tiffen, correct?
