  • DSLR's An Explanation ? (D-30)

Hi guys in the past few months i had been contemplating on a new camera i had the Canon EOS D-30 as the one i wanted but being very expensive i went for the Fuji S7000.

My question is why do guys who use the D-30 get much better picture quality considering the MP is lower, the S7000 is 6MP but can stretch to 12MP through interpolation but my photos recently haven't come out as good as i would of hoped. How can the D-30 spit out better image quality than the S7000 is it the lenses ?
    Cheers.

I believe it has to do with the sensor size. The larger the better. DSLRs have larger ones.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

        ...there is that....

Part of it is the sensor size, part of it is the sensor type.

I suggest you have a read through this thread: http://www.jetphotos.net/forums/view...=113009#113009

              Hi G-MINDY,

I have the S7000 and I think it takes good pictures. I was in the same situation. I wanted a Nikon DSLR camera, but did not want to spend that kind of money right now, but I'll buy a DSLR later. So I bought the S7000 I like it, smaller and compact.

Yes i like the S7000 its been a really useful camera so far ( and cheaper ) was just interested in how a DSLR can do what it does at odd specs.
                Thanks
