  • Halo problem on my D5600 ( D-lighting Off)

    Dear admin & screeners,

I'm here to ask for your help regarding my Nikon D5600 halo problem.

For many years I was using D3200 and I used to turn on the D-lighting function that cause the halo,
but after I changed to Nikon D5600 this year with D-lighting off, the photos sometimes appear the halo even without processing.

You could see the original photo in the attachment that is upload directly from my SD card, and it is visible to see Halo in the Check for dust section.

Does someone know what causes the Halo in this photo?

My D5600 setting is as follows:
    BKT: Off
    HDR: Off
    ADL: Off
    WB: Auto
    D-lighting: Off

    Thank you very much!!!!

    Yueh

Nikon can have halos in jpeg shots, so I recommend shooting raw. I'm a D5200 user, but we solved the problem on the D5600 by shooting raw.

    Hope I Helped, Love.

Make sure that you're not applying any picture styles or in-camera processing that change shadows/highlights.

        Thank you Kayra!

It's weird that I have never had halo problem with my previous D3200 with D-lighting off mode.

I would learn how to edit the RAW file, thank you!

For both, should be available in your settings menu while selecting photo options. Indeed, RAW shooting without D-LIghting. Edit the RAW files at the end. Not the JPEG

Select one of the upper three. After photographing, Select the RAW files for transporting to your editing program.
