Jpg compression artifacts

I've had this rejection twice, and I have looked and it isn't specifically covered and I'm very confused on what is covered and what you should do. I use lightroom. Here is the photo that got rejected. Since I'm fairly new to jetphotos I upload at the smallest size offered.

I am not a screener, but equalizing the image in Photoshop, you can see some kind of banding in the sky (see attached) - I would suspect that that is the issue.

Thanks. What's the correct way to export photos in lightroom? I usually crop to whatever and then I select a custom size of 1280 pixels which is the limit when exporting. Is there a better way to preserve quality?

Not a screener, don't know much about processing as well, but I'd like to share my own experience. The lines in the sky is caused by 'over processing'. In normal cases most of us won't process a photo so harshly. I guess you are using JPG when taking photos instead of RAW, which will lead to 'over processing' by camera itself. Also, using major processing software like PS would be helpful to reduce quality issues. Remember to choose the highest quality when you save the edited photo in PS.

All right... Since I began using raw I haven't come across situations like this, but I guess simpler processing steps will help though.
Also, may I ask what software you are using?

I've had problems with over-processed rejections as well. I shoot raw on my camera but even with one export after editing it has those halos and bad lines. I'm still new-ish to jetphotos so let me know if you have any suggestions.

I'd admit that I know little about the bad lines, but I think I deal with the halos much better. If you are using PS or LR, the following may help. You shouldn't add too much contrast or "remove fogs" (I guess this is the name cuz I'm using Chinese version and don't know the exact English name of this function). When using "CameraRAW Fliter", which is highly recommended to process your photos more accurately, try to use only the black and white colour level, but not shadow, highlight and contrast in an effort to avoid halos (sometimes just a bit won't cause any trouble). If in your photo, some parts of the plane are exposed to the background of sky, those parts are more likely to have halos (https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10643572 is an example of this kind of framing, in which it is more possible to form halos around the top of the tail). So when processing photos of planes in the sky, remember that they are more acute and you should be more careful. I haven't come across halos, which also confused me in my beginning times, for a long time, so I guess the tips would also work for you. Regards.
