As an old version person (engineer),
    I would recommend basic solution.
Take a "name of photographer, number of photos in database and acceptance ratio" from system and convert to Excel Sheet....
Make an basic sort as you wish...
Define who really deserve lets say 50 slots...
I think number of these ptotographers would not exceed 500 of 28.151....
Define them manualy in system...(Do not allow screeners to cry )
    Review scores once a year

Do not expect everything from IT

    Cheers...

Good decision, guys. I hope it helps reduce the screening time.
      All the best

Who knows...? Maybe one day (one day...) the slot allocation could be function of FR24 status (Basic, Silver, Gold...)...
So... let's leave FR24 live their own life...

What about also restricting uploads of the same aircraft on the same day to one and not being able to upload another until that one has been accepted/rejected. Some of our locals are uploading a left and right of an aircraft taken a minute or so apart for no good reason other than to get views.

I think it was a great decision! If the JP Elite privileges system no longer exists, why keep them? If the site only has one system, it's only fair that everyone has the same number of slots and helps reduce the huge queue of photos.

Curious if the Queue reduction of around 6000 is also a follow up of this. Kudos to the crew anyway!

To improve the site, comments should also be checked. I have had several offensive comments on some photos that were approved correctly by the screeners. And I see this on other photos as well.

Sure, people are free to comment. But a site for exchanging insults should not be allowed.

Do you mean remarks on image? Comments left by others are not approved or even seen by screeners unless someone points them out to us.

I noticed too, but I think it's unlikely that this is due to a decision taken only the day before yesterday

                      Just my five pennies.

JetPhotos in my opinion should stick to the principles of diversity, variety and versatility. It's great to see here that spotters from every corner of the earth have the opportunity to share their photos with the world.

And I'm very keen to see different aircraft, from different airlines, from a wide variety of airports in Africa, South America, Russia, Asia, Australia, United States, etc.
And, in my humble opinion, when ‘Elite’ members upload 100 identical skyshots taken on the same day from the same angle - it is contrary to the values of versatility, and nobody but the author himself is cared about those pics.

Once I met how an "Elite" member uploaded about 30-40 identical Easyjet photos in a row, different only by a couple of letters in the registration. Diversity we deserve.

I really respect the hard work that old spotters have done to develop the site, filling it with quality content. But totally support Alex, Simon and the decision made.
Looking forward to an accept ratio system.

                      Kind regards,
                      Alexander

I was an Elite member and did benefit before with having 100 slots, which I sometimes took advantage of a few years ago. I always knew that having this available was lucky rather than earned and so I have no problem with this legacy advantage being removed. I do like the idea of more slots being available to those with decent acceptance ratios and hope that can be implemented at some point. Although I don't take as many photos as I used to, I still enjoy it when I can and am happy to have somewhere like JP to upload photos.

Keep up the good work and thanks for all that the team do

This is JP saying "we give up". This is another step back, not forth. You are limiting total upload count instead of hiring new screeners to deal with the queue length. Few months, one or two hundred new accounts and the queue will be back at 30000. And this is not equality - newbie from Stansted still can upload ~40-50 (per month) Ryanairs in a row, while people travelling to other continents, throwing thousands of dollars to visit exotic airports or catch exotic airlines in their portfolio, have to limit down heavily. Next month I am flying to museum with 400 airplanes - that is one year of uploading...

And reducing the queue by 20% in 3 days is also giving up ? Yeah that's how much we care but hey.... yeah we gave up !!

As stated many times, taking too many screeners isn't a solution as it affects the consistency and training them takes energy and time. we believe 40 crew members is a good number and we won't add more for the time being.

Now back to givin'up... Sorry I mean screening

Yes indeed queue is reduced as expected but it did not change anything in total. Still many photos in queue in my notebook to upload. You will screen them anyway

                              Crew member, why not 41

                              Cheers Alex
