No one needs 100 slots if the screening time gets hopefully to a decent level.
Yet crew members are still limited to 10 uploads per day as anyone else, 100 slots in queue is the ONLY JetPhotos-wise benefit for us. If you take in consideration amount of time we spend screening other people photos for free, I'd say it's fair.

Please don't tell me that there are members who are jealous that the JP crew has more slots than others have.🤦

That’s what I meant with I understand the decision. All good.

Just out of curiosity: are screeners theoretically and practically able to screen their own pictures?

No, screeners don’t get to see their own images on screening.

Everybody is supposed to be screened at the same level and I always tell new crew no to screen crew images anywhere differently than anyone’s else's images.

          Regards
          Alex

PS : When I said everyone was at 20 I meant users, I should/could have mentioned that crew members weren’t included there.

Jealousy? No! Just curiosity as the numbers some users still publish do not fit with the new rule.

You are incorrect. Crew members are excluded.

There are currently ten crew members (screeners) with more than 20 images in the queue. This accounts for fewer than 2% of the current total of images in the queue, meaning this small benefit for an otherwise unpaid/uncompensated job is adding ~4 hours of wait time to the normal queue. I think people can live with that.
              Sorry, I misunderstood.

Screeners should be rewarded with no daily/total limits for their hard work.

Just noticed that the waiting time until a photo get screened is much faster these days. But if I look at the upload stats I see way more uploads the past days. How does this fit together?

I suspect that the +/- 37% acceptance rate over the last 7 days might have something to do with it too.

That's is what we expected; Management limitted the uploads of high acceptance rated photographers and here is the result.

The acceptance rate hasn't been above 40% for months, well before this decision was made. The reason? I can only guess, but I'll keep it to myself, otherwise smartphone lovers will be offended.

17 November 2024: 2866 total uploads. 2237 not yet screened. 0 in screening. 629 processed.
18 November 2024: 2083 total uploads. 1596 not yet screened. 0 in screening. 487 processed.
19 November 2024: 1981 total uploads. 1477 not yet screened. 0 in screening. 504 processed.
20 November 2024: 1999 total uploads. 1606 not yet screened. 2 in screening. 391 processed.

                                Period Totals
                                Total Screened: 1,268 % Accepted: 31.62%
Total Accepted: 401 Total Rejected: 867

I was always wandering, assuming "processed" today/yesterday are only hot photos, so what people put in the reasons for hot? These 500 are not new regs or global newsworthy, it's 22-25% daily uploads processed on the day of upload.
But I see numbers for last week do not add up - "processed" are 3453, "screened" 1268 with acceptance ratio 31.62%.
Screened vs uploads is 8.4% still quite high for hot photos.
So what's the difference between processed and screened?

Whole month acceptance is 60.7% is quite good, but far from mine overall 93.38% .

It was clear, that screeners are doing very hard work during last days, thank You all for that.
But, shortert queue leads to more people uploading, new accounts being created and we will be back at 30k faster than it should be.

Alp, I saw some great shots from Sabiha-Gocken LTFJ, from the hill during sunset. I have to go there on next Istambul trip .
