Thanks. I was looking at other photos of the US Air Force KC-135, couldn't find 23498 rego so wasn't too sure what to put.

USAF aircraft usually are registered as yy-serial

yy - year of acquisition (might be wrong here).
serial - the # you see.

Maybe it should just be USAF, not the Army Air Force, that is the old name from before WWII

The correct serial # (reg.) is:

62-3498

(AMC- should not be in the reg. field)

As mentioned, they're all registered by yy-xxxx

where yy is fiscal year. a lot of them (but not all AF airplanes!!) only have second digit (as in here, only 2 is painted) so a little bit of research may be required.
