The 300D and the 10D have the same CMOS sensor. All Canon did was cripple the firmware but the 300D has just about all the capabilities of the 10D, it's just the firmware is crippled. Wiasa has figured out how to enable most of these features and he's working on getting all of them to work. The biggest difference between the 300D and the 10D are more hardware related. The 10D has a 9 frame buffer and a few extra buttons and there is a screen on top and the rear dial. Both are good for aviation photography, however the lens is most important.
