I always thought they used the same sensor too.

Me too...what's different about it...is it the manufacturing proccess, the materials used or both? Anyways, there seems to be no change in image quality compared to 10D.

Can you give a better comparison? I like to hear more from someone who has real experience rather than reading evals. What lenses are you using? Do you have any side by side action shots?

        Thanks,
        Rob

Just means when you shoot continous frames, you are limited to four shots...then you have to wait for the buffer to clear.

Incorrect, the buffer can hold 4 shots, but after one has cleared you can shoot another pic, so you don't have to wait for them all

Ok, I stand corrected...I thought the buffer had to clear all four for you to take the next shot. The 300D's small buffer shouldn't be a problem if you don't plan to shoot many frames in a short period of time.

OK- got it. How fast is the autofocus on the 300D?

Wow! Ok.... Do any of you have complaints about the 300D?

There is nothing wrong with the 300D but there are alternatives!

Consider this before you buy and bear in mind that it is the first DSLR designed as a DSLR from the ground up. This means it has lots of advantages over the canon / Nikon/ which all use 35mm lenses, ie lenes that weren't designed for digital sensors. So, smaller lenses, same quality as L glass, much lower price.

For more details go to http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympuse1/
..It has disadvantages too like the rest but there is no perfect solution.

The Olympus E-1 didn't get as good a recommendation as the 300D or 10D at dpreview. It may have a few revolutionary features but isn't really worth the extra $$$. The Nikon D70 is a better alternative to the 300D.

Btw, you don't need L glass to get quality pictures from a Canon.

If I had had the cash I would have taken an E-1.
