  • What should I use to clean my LCD?

I've got some smudges on my screen and I just picked up some LCD covers, but I'd like to clean the screen before I put them on. Thanks.

High pressure air compresser works like a charm, same with a sand blaster.

I usually use my lens cleaning fluid.

Seriously, I'm sure a kleenex and some windex should be fine.

Bottle of 'Mr. Muscle' Glass Cleaner with Bounty kitchen rolls should do the trick.

I find paper towels just add lint flakes. Annoying.

Personally I'd avoid Windex and stick to a wet soft cloth (works wonderfully well). Wipe lightly (although presumably longer) and in a unique direction at all costs to avoid permanently damaging your pixels.

I've been doing that to my laptop screen for a year now and it still looks brand new.

You guys are really making a big deal out of this. It's not that hard to clean the LCD screen. All you need is a little moisture on it and then wipe it off with a cloth, shirt, etc. and it's good as new.

I usually spit on it then wipe it with my In-N-Out french fry grease laden fingers.

                            Works pretty good.

Thanks for sharing that with us Clovis. I presume that is how you cleaned the CMOS of your D30 too? (Or was is sandpaper again)
