420EX, anyone got it?

Hi all,
I'm looking at purchasing a Canon 420EX speedlight but I'm after some tips on whether it's a worthwhile flash? I can't afford the 550EX and the 220EX isn't quite sufficient, hence me choosing the 420EX. Anyone had first hand experience with this flash?

P.S. I've also heard the recycle time on it is slow, true?

Good flash - I have used it for four years now and have had no problems with the recycle time. I can recommend with confidence.
