LHR Spotting!

Hi guys,

For my happyness i will be making a trip to LHR for some pictures.
But i need some information from the local spotters.
What should be the wind direction for the runways 27R and L?
I will be on foot, what directions should i take?
And there are any good sites for information?

Yup, that site has a pretty good guide

but personally I am still a bit confused about the locations for touchdowns on 27R. Worldspotters.net lists it as #5, and it's being shot through a fence, but I can recall there being a thick hunk of metal covering the fence down Perimeter Rd

An amazing vantage point, but I'd guess a hefty zoom lens and walk is in order (unless the free Terminal shuttle from Hatton Cross goes past there?)

I'm also suspecting that a bit of crafty work is required to climb onto the roof of a nearby building?
