  • Best lens for low price

Hi all. I have gotten my Rebel/300D and am now looking to get a better lens for aviation photography. I'm looking for a telephoto zoom of around 300 mm at the high end (bigger if the price is right). I've seen many different lenses out there and I'm wondering what the experts here would recommend for under $300 (hopefully no more than $250). Thanks in advance!

Well you can go with a cheap-o 75-300 EFIII from Canon be careful several bad copies are possible before you get a decent one. You can try http://www.fredmiranda.com check out the buy and sell area and try to get a 100-300L F5.6 like I have
(its a black L lens, made in the late 80's gives great images) or you can try to save for a 70-200 F/4 but if 200 is not long enough you have to spend 200 bucks a get a convertor. A few Sigma's might be ok but the resale value sucks. Hmm thats just a few choices

With that budget, the 75-300 is your best bet.

There are already like 50 threads about this crap.. quit being lazy and use the search option in this forum..

            Sigma

I've used both the Canon and Sigma basic 75-300s, each on ebay for under $120 and both have not disappointed.

Agreed, this thread is tired though, each day is a post about what lens to buy.
