I have a "different" one in the queue right now. I'm gonna hold you to your statement.

The quality is great. You know I have good stuff, I wouldn't upload it if I didn't think it should make it. It's just different because it's not a typical side-profile photo.

why does everyone think that a.net is the be all and end all of aviation photography?

why is it that people seem to think that they have made it as a photographer if they get accepted at the other site?

if you want to walk around with some thing up your back end, i suggest you run on over to the other site. im sick of hearing people talk about a.net on these forums.

Maybe because the other site is more widely known. A good shot there can get as much as 10 times the views as here at JP. Many here actually want the extra exposure for their work and don't just post for the fun of it.

That being said I only have 2 pics on that site because I just don't have the patience for the queue.

Aha. So I have a shot here with 20k hits, while it has 3000 on the other site. Then there is one with 14k hits here and almost 700 at A.net. And the list goes on... Not that I give a shit about views anyway.
                greetings,

Yes there are always going to be exceptions.

Well I can list a ton of exceptions aswell...and it seems IMO that shots here with more views actually get there because of merit and not something cheap.

Oh like that has anything to do with it...any dope could get shots accepted at either site...easy as pie.

Exactly...don't know why everyone makes a big deal out of it.

Who are you calling a dope?

I have shots on JP taken with my D70 AND some with my wee Nikon 3100. In fact, apart from framing problems with the 3100, it is a lot easier to carry around and poke through fences etc

As for the other "arguement", this site is a far friendlier site both in users and "staff". Unfortunately the other site has gotten too far away from the amateur enthusiast and more into the professional. As long as JP remains user friendly it will always be the better site for ALL aviation photography enthusiasts.

However, as always, it's a personal choice, both in equipment and sites. If you cannot afford to buy a DSLR, then do the best you can with the equipment you have and use it within it's limitations. Shouldn't be any problem producing excellent pictures. And if you like nice, friendly, helpful (if a little sarcastic!) screeners, stay here

                            Andy

                              pic site

exmanx, I agree with you 100%. I like jp.net over anet for the reasons you have said.

I hope jp.net stays easy and friendly.

and you know that i have 0 shots on a.net?

i choose not to upload my stuff there anylonger.
                                i do have stuff there.

but after ramblings on that site about how they have higher standards, and not inconsistencies and then a certain screener uploaded an orange wunala dreaming with a dark blue background, thats when i realised that this site is much nicer and has integrity.
