well im very new to slr, as i picked up my XT on the 5th. how do you do that thing were you bring your image into photoshop, then "equalize" or sumthing, and it brings out the dust spots, anyone care to tell me how to do it or any helpful links?
It's actually quite it . Open Photoshop, then go to "Image"->"adjustments"->"equalize" and then the photo gets some harsh contrast and you can easily see the dustspots.
Quite a lot of them on my chip already .

How do you expect to find dust spots in that? Set the camera to f16 or above and shoot a clear blue sky, or a light colored wall. Then equalize the photo....

One thing to remember, is to not change your lens with the camera on, it sort of works as a vaccumm and sucks in more dust then if it was off. It'll happen to everyone the odd time, but try to avoid it.
I know it might be come sense, but just trying to help.
Looks like a picture from my camera . Seriously, you can't really avoid it if you change lenses frequently. I do and so I have lots of dust on the sensor. I'm not cleaning it extensively, though, just the odd blow of air over it after some time and the rest of the dust gets cloned out in PS .
Of course only if you see it and that is on large monochrome places on your photo.
