6 WEEKS? What, why so long?

Shutter's locked, it'll only open 1/3rd of the way. It'll take 2 weeks to give me an estimate (though that one might be because it'll take my camera shop that long to ship it).

Yeah, another satisfied DSLR user. Mine just came back from the fourth rapair and I have the feeling that it still won't work like it should.

I wonder how long Nikon would take for the same repair. Not trying to create any brand-flamewars but all the storys about Canon Service I hear online are decidedly bad and this one fits right in.

@cja: Thanks very much but when I can finally convince my damn dealer that he should really take this thing back I'll get the analog version of this, well, "camera" instead and keep on shooting slides.

That's why you need a backup camera, at least a P&S

I have one... well, two . An analog Minolta Dynax 60 and a digital Dimage 5 which I gave my girlfriend.

But the Tokina AT-X 2.8/300mm is so big that you nearly can't hold the combination of it and the Dynax 60 without battery grip. And the Dynax 60 doesn't have one.

That's why I want to get the analog Dynax 7 plus battery grip.

I have two more cameras but I can't fit my lenses on them . An Exa 1b and a Zenit E. Both being more than 20 years old .
