      One thing about equipment....

I dont believe that good equipment always makes a good photographer. I used to capture shots on film, using a pathetic Nikon F55 with a single 100-300mm Sigma F5.6-6.7 lens. Now the equipment cost me less than $500SGD (abt $220USD). Coupled together with my school's scanner (HP 5470), I managed to get a reasonable number of shots into the other site. I dont have ramp access, and in SG, the airport security people are paranoid, always out to get us, and I have to resort to photographing from the outside.

I reckon the key for the other site (and perhaps this one) is to know what the screener's are looking for, and do your post processing to match that criterion. Whatever u take is for yourself, only the post processing is for the website.

      Cheers

true. sometimes, I will feel that a photo is perfectly sharp enough for my taste, or the right color balance, but THEY want it sharper or whatever. I think some people lose sight of that. They look at a photo and say, "cool!" when in reality it is "cool!" but not quite a.net standards, or jetphotos for that matter. You really do kind of tailor your photos to the medium you are sending it to, because each website has their own vision.
