I own a 7n. Very good camera for the money.
I understand ur 300d broke (6 weeks? Ouch)
It has all the features you would need and many more.

At the moment i'm using the 28-135 sigma and the canon 75-300USM III
Both pretty good when stopped down to about f8.
I am however saving for the 70-200 L which i hear is amazing and i tried it out last week at the shop - (wildings for everyone in the northwest of the uk - they rock)
