I use P1, but that's only because I'm too lazy. It's better to use custom.

Always P1. P2 is too bland, and I like lots of colour and saturation

Hehehehe...me too. Which is why I will never use a camera from the other brand.

Yeah, Parameter 1 makes the pictures look nicer right out of the camera, but I'm wondering if maybe using Adobe RGB will give better results post-editing. The manual says that mode is mostly used by professionals and requires lots of editing...

I always shot P2 on my 300D when I used it. P2 was regarded as being closer to the output that a 10D gives. P1 is designed to give a more P&S over-processed style output. You can always alter anything in Photoshop anyway.

You always have to be different don't you?

Yeah, this has been making me sick thinking how I paid ~$670 for my 300D in December '04 and a few months later the bottom dropped out on the 10D prices.

Thanks for your responses everyone. To the person that selected Adobe RGB: would you mind posting and sharing with me/us why you use that mode?

I use custom, because you can photoshop all you want, but if it sucks coming out of the camera, it's still gonna suck in photoshop.
