Hell, I had to sell my 1.4x TC in April because I needed the cash.

    Correction :

There's the DO version of 70-300mm and then there's the 75-300mm IS USM.

Is this a minor typo, I guess ?

Anyway good luck purchasing the right lens, Greg !

Dude, stop correcting people I think he means the new Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM

I think the 70-300mm is quite cheap actually Shame they don't do Teleconverter's for it, that would make a nice set-up!

        Two IS USM versions.....

I kinda mixed those two together, The old 75 and the new 70. I stand corrected.

yeah, I used a 75-300mm in 10//03 when I got my 300D. Now I'm prolly going to get the 70-300mm IS USM. It differs from the 75-300 IS by having the 2 mode IS. I wish I could get the DO version, but once again...not enough money.

** Sorry for bumping this thread.

After a few thousand dkr's poorer, today I recieved my 70-200mm f/2.8 LIS.
It's quite funny to end up with a complete different decision even though we have had some great replies about the Canon 100-400LIS and the Sigma 80-400mm. I'm actually surprised that it got to be this f2.8. I'm really looking forward to try this thing out on a field where it belongs
