  • Help on rejected photo

Today I received a rejection message with two reasons

    Reason 1:
underexposed. I understand why the screener is seeing it that way.

    Reason 2:
bad cropping photo edges. I looked at my photo in phototoshop and I do no see where the photo edges is not crop properly.
Can someone pin point to me at which area of the photo should be corrected.

Now the link to the rejected photo.

    Thank you

The cropping beats me. Perhaps they felt there should be more dead space?

I am not sure Pierre but I think the screener meant that you had to crop somewhat tighter, to get the, somewhat distracting, wing tip out of the picture. Just my thought on this, for the rest of it I really like it.

      cheers, Pamela

I included the the winglet with the tail because I thought it was making a nice shot.

I think that I have seen similar photos on this site.

          Hey Pierre,

When going for the winglet and tail shots, try it from a more frontal angle. That way the two will appear closer, and the photo will not be as "loose". Right now, from this near side-on angle, there's a lot of dead space between the tail and the winglet, and the crop looks rather awkward.

          Hope that helps.

Is AirCanada using metallic paint or is that just the way the sun is reflecting?

It is indeed a Metallic paint, it's more noticable in some photos where it isn't in others. Some of the first of the new colours showed it pretty well because of the lighting inside the hangar.

I thought it was a pearl coat. What ever it is, it's nice in the sun.

Brightness definetly needs to be bumped up, I'd try it by bumping up the mid curve. Also, the winglet doesn't really fit the composition here, it's kinda just sticking there, and there's too much dead space at the back of the plane. Sorry but as is this photo really looks more like a snapshot rather than a sat down and composed photo.
