  • Spotting at LAX

I assume someone has been there before so that is why I'm asking advice.

I will be in Terminal 1 for a short bit around 12:32 pm on tuesday. i was wondering if anything of interest will be there and if there is a good place to stand. I will be kind of rushing so what do you think.

    Greg -

Terminal One has one of the best photo-spots on the whole airport, I used to use it as often as I could. Simply go all the way to the end of the concourse (by the America West gate on the right side) and you'll be in a great position to shoot all the departures for the right-hand runways.

Arrivals can also be shot here, if you're quick - if you have an airband, the north tower is 133.9 and north ground is 121.65, and if not there's an east-facing window through which inbounds can be observed.

Several of the Far East long-hauls roll up around lunchtime, but most of the European heavies come in later in the afternoon - best of luck with it!
