Hi, I just wanted to tkae a thread and introduce myself as a new photographer to this site.
My name is Phil Derner Jr, and I live in New York City, within walking distance of La Guardia Airport. I've loved planes my whole life, but really got intot he hobby of spotting and photography within the past year.
I do a lot of videos with a Panasonic DV52 cam, and my stills are taken generally with a Canon D30, with a 400 mm zoom (although its a 600 mm on a D30).
there are many aviation enthusiast sites out there, and I am a frequent member of one in particular. I stay away from the others generalyl, but I chose this site over others because the quality of the pictures are good without being overly-picky, and because of its association with AirDisaster, which I am quite a fan of (obviously, since I live near LGA, I have a bit of a backgroudn with crashes lol).
I jsut got some of my first pictures accepted here, so feel free to do a search on my name and critique my pics.
If you have any questions, don't be shy. I look forward to being an active member here.
