Hot photo use reminder!!

There is nothing more that could be considered to be constructive comment to be made so.......

As it was my wrongdoing that caused the start of this thread then I claim the right to request the closure of this particular subject item. The thread itself cannot be closed as it's a "sticky" item.

Let the wrongly accepted hot photo issue apart, just one note to the usual complaint, that we don't have any south american team member: When we look for new screeners, we VERY, VERY SELDOM get applications from your part of the world and out of those we only had one acceptable applicant, but alas he couldn't screen as much as we want the screeners to do.

So, don't blame us for not having South American screeners.

I was born in Buenos Aires and I have the Argentinian citizenship so....
And yeah., I flew with LAN Airlines many times but... I wasn't screening when that shot came up so what can we do ?

I didnt necessarily mean a screener, but someone that can help with the information. Some sort of editor with whom you can double check information. Or just directly go to Omar

Ok, I'll let it go, but honestly I still can't understand how this picture got through so easily. It shows that no one bothered to check if the information was correct.

When exactly, in the whole process of MAKING A MISTAKE, should the screener ask you then? As mentioned, we do have people in the know, the mistake was discovered fast and the decision was taken rapdily. Having you or one of your mates in the team wouldn't have changed one iota in this wrongly accepted photo.

But then again, I can't understand the fuss you and your friends are making about this mistake. But hey! That's life!!

Not sure if the quality is good enough, JPG compression perhaps, but would something like this be hot? It is a rare sight! (second shot maybe not)?

Maybe it's rare... But it's cleary not HOT. Please remember it's ONLY hot when :

A new airline.

A new colour scheme for an airline.

A new aircraft type for an airline.

New aircraft types airliners, bizjets, cargo aircrafts ect.

A new special colourfull scheme for an airline.

Serious question... Can you honestly say you've gone through your entire life and never made a mistake? This question requires only a simple 'yes' or 'no'. If the answer is 'yes' then you're the single most perfect human being I've ever known of. If the answer is 'no' then your entire point is nonsense.

Over-analyse this all you like, but essentially it really is that simple. Occasionally as human beings we're wrong; you may not have realised this and you may live your life in a world without fault (and if you do then believe me, the rest of the world would love you to teach us how to achieve that), but essentially mistakes are occasionally made and as human beings we have to accept that. When someone puts their hands up and says 'you know what? Yeah sod it, I'm wrong but no harm has been caused and the world hasn't ended' we really should respect that and not throw it back in their faces. As someone who no doubt is wrong from time to time, you should also have the decency to accept this, respect it and move on.

We're all human, and as such we're allowed to make the occasional mistake.

of course I make mistakes, many in fact, and that's why I don't question a mistake made by an individual. And since apparently it's an individual that screens and decides for each shot and not the group, or more than one individual, then nough said; mistakes are made and no harm is done.

And do not forget, that while the change from LAN Chile to LAN is obvious to the guys in South America, for us spotters here in Europe LAN (in either form) is a rare airline and we as screeners need to check the data for photos from all over the world.

So some times it happens that we make mistakes and some times users will up-load an Argentine A-4R as an A-4N Ahit and we will notice the mistake. In the end we are doing the screening in our free time and when it comes to checking the info, it will always be a little different depending on the private interests of the individual screener.
