Hot photo use reminder!!

Hi all,

What about an existing aircraft in a fleet but the first one with winglets?
I don't think it falls under the category of a new aicraft type for that particular airline..

Perhaps a review of the previous few days will show that a screener or two might have had a little too much xmas cheer in them while screening.

whilst i dont want to particularly point the finger, nor criticise screeners/photogs
there are somethings that just dont escape attention. So as you said above, why accept a bad photo, if a good one will come along later.

That depends. Usually we expect the same quality standards also for hot photos. Exceptions could be photos, which we probably would not see again. But let's say, the first A380 in Emirates colors (just as an example) should meet the minimum quality standards, simply, because we know, we will be flood by a gazillion of top shots, so why accept a bad photo first?

Are the same screening standards applied to the screening of 'hot photos' ?

No !!! this is clearly NOT a hot photo.

First visits of an airline to an airport if we already have 50+ photos in the data base of the same aircraft and airline.

If it is a brand new aircraft, then upload as hot photo. If it "only" happens to be the first photo of an old aircraft stored somewhere (jus as an example), then upload as regular shot.

This is a reminder of when to use the "Hot Photo" upload when its:

A new airline.

A new colour scheme for an airline.

A new aircraft type for an airline or Air Force.

New aircraft types airliners, bizjets, cargo aircrafts, fighters ect.

A special colourful scheme for an airline or Air Force.

When not to use the "Hot Photo" upload:

When the photo shows a new registration, but the airline already has several of the same aircraft type.

First visits of an airline to an airport if we already have 50+ photos in the data base of the same aircraft and airline.

"This is the first time I have ever seen one of these" is not a hot photo reason if it happens to be a widely covered aircraft already.

I could go on and on but I hope you get the idea Always check the data base first before uploading as hot, because many times we already have photos of the aircraft in the data base.
