What about actual events. For instance now with the ash clouds ramps being completely empty or contrary full clutered with aircraft, completelly
desolated terminals e.g.
Being the actuallity now i.m.o. the pics will say more at this moment than after passing a queue of 10000 in a week or more.

Nope, the ash cloud is now old news allready. And if we would accept them as hot I think we would be flooded with pictures of empty ramps or static aircraft uploaded as hot.
They would say still enough after they went through the normal screening process.
rgds,
“The only time you have too much fuel is when you’re on fire.”
I shot this aircraft like 3 weeks ago. No shots of it in the databse. I want to put it was hot. ANET has 2 shots of it and JP none. I am still awaiting confirmation from JP after almost 2 weeks when they said it would be max 48hours. It is because this aircraft doesn't exist in the databse. Could someone please contact JP so they accept? Thanks. Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 605

Jan,
This shot doesn't qualify a hot. It's is just a Challenger right and only the engine of one.
And I don't know what you mean with the 'awaiting confirmation from JP after almost 2 weeks'

Rgds,
But this Challenger model doesn't exist in the database. I am awaiting confirmation because I applied the aircraft type and they said wait for us to confirm (so it doesn't yet exist in databse).
just wanted to mention another criteria (completing the list spread over this topic ) which apparently does NOT qualify for a HOT photo, which is the production number of an aircraft type, e.g. the 500th aircraft of a certain type or the 1000th or the 5000th.
Reason might be the similarity to the 499 (or whatever) previous built aircraft even if the "jubilee" always is a special achievement for the manufacturer.
I tried to get a shot accepted over a couple of hours on 12/7.I uploaded
several 'hot' shots (of the same aircraft)that were all rejected with the last one rejected because it wasnt a 'hot' after I had sharpened it as requested.
I appeal this as it wasnt the reason for its first rejection and get that yes indeed it was a 'hot' - but that the shot was 'oversharpened and grainy'
Meanwhile another photographer has successfully uploaded a shot of the same aircraft - with sticker.
I am left wondering if their is such a thing operating within jetphotos as a
'clique' which would seem very unfair on the rest of us mortals?
You were not the only person to get a rejection for quality issues on Hot uploads for images of that aircraft on that particular day. The conditions were clearly not ideal.
There are no cliques just different screeners who all have slightly different opinions on where to draw the line on what is too soft or too sharp etc.
I cant say why a screener decided that your image was invalid as a Hot photo.. that was an incorrect judgement by who ever made it but I am certain it was not because he/she was trying to keep your picture out of the database for personal reasons.
That's our mistake, not the photogrpahers one. The photo remains in the db. As the say goes: "Shit happens!"
However, if we find out, he mislead us by making up a story, it will be deleted.
There's a nice photo uploaded today as hot that says in the comment that it's a new scheme when in fact it's not, and the scheme has been around for years. I find it hard to believe that the photog didn't know this, nor the screener, since it's a very big and well known airline.
I have nothing personal against anyone, but these things are sometimes very annoying.

Ok, but me as a photographer I can't upload a photo saying is hot because the aircraft has a new scheme when I had to check previously the current colors of the airline to say something like that...
you have two options.. you did not check or.. I don't know what to think
By the way, this is the photo and i also left a comment this morning but it was not accepted I think.
