New airframes with recycled regs. are considered hot.

Every image that is unreasonably uploaded as hot represents a waste of time and energy on the part of the screener/s as they have to spend extra time to research the validity or otherwise of the “Hotness” of the image. This time lost impacts on the normal queue screening time.

It has transcended a hobby for many of them, more like a test they feel that they need to pass and they are willing to go to great lengths for it.
I honestly don't understand your thought. Everyone lives a passion as he believes and if he decides to spend his time studying post-production I think it is legitimate to do so without anyone starting to criticize it.
Doing anything to skip the queue is a different matter. This I think is quite stupid. But it has been discussed abundantly elsewhere and I think it will be enough here too.

As for myself, I also use the hot photo function, but only for new aircraft/registration numbers and new special liveries. I have almost never received invalid hot rejections, except for one time: when I wrote the wrong registration number.
The meaning of life is different for everyone, just like many people don’t understand why we spend time on taking so many photos of airplanes.

You are right to ask. This reduces the stress of the screeners

If you often upload jetphotos, you will find that many of them have been reviewed as hot photos and accepted because of the addition of wifi devices. So for this kind of ambiguous question, I think it is necessary to confirm this matter.

If you are not interested in hot photos, you can choose to don't upload your photos as hot. I wish you have a nice day!
