  • Low view count on favorite photos.

    Do you guys get this too. You upload a picture thinking its the best you have ever taken and you like it the most. And boom really low view count.
    Here is a KC-10 that I caught landing in Bangor, Maine.

    I love this picture...but only 133 views.
    Whats the deal? Do you guys see something wrong with it. I know its not Air2Air quality but..idn maybe I'm making a bigger deal of it than needed.
    Try to catch me flyin dirty...

    Mike -

    I know what you mean... some of my most common or garden pics seem to shoot up my charts - DL M88's for instance - while some of my favorite warbird shots languish at the bottom of the heap. (What has everyone got against F4U's????? )

    I guess it goes to show that everyone's opinions are different!

      I really like this photo, given the extreme pitch angle of the airplane, and the view of Manchester Airport in the background. Apparently, not many other people liked it though.

        So far, I think this is one of my best photos, but it only has 161 views. So, I guess it wasn't as intersesting to other people as I thought it would be.

          Its interesting looking at what someones perception of a great photo is. It amazes me when someone says what a great pic that is and yet for the life of me I cant work out what they see in it. Yet when I think wow I have shot a great image, others think that looks just OK. Like the old saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

          I suppose it depends on what someone is interested in. For example I would spend all day looking at helicopters, warbirds and fighters, yet I wouldnt go through a database looking at images of airliners, no offence to those that shoot them, as I dont have an avid interest in them.

          In addition I love looking at images that capture the spirit of aircraft, and love some of the images that Glenn has shot. We all have a different perception of what we are trying to achieve when we have the camera up to our eye. When I go on a photo shoot I am primarily shooting images that I need for my magazines so sometimes I am dictated to by that, having to shoot a specific angle for a cover, rather than an artisitc image that only I am going to like. However sometimes it also ends up me being able to capture some "shit hot" images, some of which I have uploaded here.

          One of my all time favourites was shooting an Air Tractor 802 out at Scone (those in OZ will know where that is). Ross Pay was flying it and I have known him for a long time and trust him to a T. Well the head on shot, while sitting in the cotton field was a stunner and he literally came over me at head height. Resulted in an awesome image (still to be uploaded) but a few more gray hairs on the head.

          Anyway heading off the subject here but as said above everyone likes something different and thats what makes sites like this popular as if we all liked the same images then whats the point of uploading different ones.

                    [photoid=96223]

                    yet this has more hits:
                    [photoid=101881]

                    maybe its all dependent on how many ppl visit the site while your pic is in the latest additions hehe...
