BWI always has a couple ATA L-1011's sitting around so for me it's kind of a non-event.

What I missed today was the Northrup grumman BAC-1-11 with a fighter nose cone.

it's pretty sad, when you miss the one you've been waitin for all day !

my situation, It was July 9 , around 11am-01pm in [EKCH] that day they used the 04L for take off, I was waiting for the Korean Cargo HL7466.. SaS 321 and 763 just roared away above me, yes I was standing at "kystvejen" ,just seconds after the wind changed, and me thought the cargo plane was taxying towards 04L, Nope, it blasted away downwards 22R, ..No turn around ..C'MON PLEASE, I yelled to myself ! ..what a day ...damn .! ,,O well there will always be another day to catch that sucker ..

About a year or so ago, I was at LAX inside In N Out eating. I didn't have my camera (it was in the car) and guess what, here comes John Travolta's 707 N707JT for landing. You could have not imagined how upset I was. This was before it was painted in the Qantas colours, and it had a blue stripe that was similar to TWA's 1960s colours.

On a second occasion, back in September 2000, the Singapore Airlines 747-400 "Tropical Megatop" 9V-SPK made a landing at LAX. I was able to snap a quick picture of it, but since it was on short notice and I didn't know it was coming, it came out horrible. This was the last time I seen her and as we all know, it's life ended just a month later...

            Wow great stories.

For me, this was totally uneventful. Couple years back on a very stormy afternoon at DCA. We'll I was listening to Washington Tower on my scanner and was outside watching the planes landing at DCA from where I live until I heard and saw a United DC-10 making an emergency approach and landing into Reagan National Airport. At this time, no camera, but hey what amazes me was actually seeing a widebody landing on a 6,800ft runway, swerving, turning, throttles spooling, ATC'ers let him land to the south. I wish I was at the airport at that time.

About a week ago on July 8, 2003, I was in the airplane on my flight back home on an American Boeing 767-300 from Los Angeles Intl Airport to Wash-Dulles Intl. Airport. While we were taxiing to 25R for departure, I noticed this B727 what looks like it has an F-22 nose, taking off 25R. I thought it would've been cool getting that shot on film plus it didn't worry me becuase the weather that morning at LAX was pretty crappy.
