  • Copyright Infringement - send a message

hi all .. I recently got an eMail from someone in England about an Aussie site that had stolen his image off a.net, removed the copyright infringement notices and used it on their web site .. he'd sent a bunch of emails and got no response and so have I.

i'm trying to catch their attention .. so i'm inviting anyone who wishes to do so to send an email to

    *no more emailing please*

    which simply states:

" I read about the copyright infringement, have you contacted the photographer yet? ".

I think we need to keep sending them till he gets pissy enough to respond to the photographer, I plan to send one via each email address I have every 24 hours .

    Images:

You may also want to check out the site and make sure you're pics aren't there, you can browse the necessary directories.

Contact the persons server, and tell your case. If you can show that he has violated copyright laws, his site is gone.

            Hi All ...

The photographer has been contacted and requested that eMails stop being sent ... apparently they're recieiving rude and defamatory eMails ... hard to fathom that "I have read about what you did, have you contacted the photographer yet?" is rude and defamatory ...

Hope none of you have been impolite!!! ...

anyway ... lets leave it with the photographer for a while .. but lets all be just a tad annoyed at the fact that the guy included the following in his eMail...

To be honest, to source is a picture of this Aircraft is not difficult, and
will due respect, it is not as though the picture is such an exclusive rare
            image.

I confirm that it is not our intention to pay any monies for the mistake
that was innocently made by Best Flights, and I am pleased to confirm that
the image was only utilised for approx 24-36 hours.

I would take this opportunity to suggest that your 'friends' who seem to
have far to much time on their hands, refrain from a much worse 'crime' of flaming my company and also cease and desist from any present and future defamation.

Good enough to steal .. but not good enough to pay for? If only we had a $1 for every time we heard that

So .. remembering NOT to send them any more eMail for now .. which of you nasties ... "flamed his company" or engaged in "defamation"? Fess up ....

and Chris may wish to take note of this little gem:

The picture in question did not have any copyright clearly on the image, it is only featured when clicked on for a large version when it is then evident, and as only a small image was required, the large image was not produced. The images were not edited to purposely remove the copyright notice, she only saw the small image and copy and pasted that image.

There is no digital watermarking using Digimarc that can be seen either on
any of the images so even if she had done a digital watermark check in Adobe Photoshop she would not have seen the copyright information.

Although after investigating the problem, I realise the page has a copyright notice at the bottom, I would respectively suggest that the images are more clearly marked, regardless of the size of the image.
I cant' express my opinion of that statement without defamation so I guess i'll leave you all to ponder how difficult it is to drift ot the bottom of a web site and read the copyright notices ... particularly as it's internet convention to put them at the bottom of a page ...

In Australia we are taught "ignorance is no excuse" ... guess some people were away for that lesson ....

REMEMBER .. NO EMAILING THE COMPANY ....
