  • What Canon lens is this ?

I dont really know if this fits under this photography section.

Can you answer me what Canon lens is this one ?

Feel free to move it into Offtopic if necessary.

    I think it looks like a Canon EF 300mm + 2.0 extender ?

Photo was shot at Copenhagen Zoo a couple of days ago and this person was spotted with this huge lens. Probably to shoot the oragutang fleas

It's abit too big to be a 300. Judging by the number of black rings it looks like a 500, maybe even a 600. It's one of the two anyway...

Yea either a 5 or 6, theres really no way in telling, both the 500m and 600m have 5 black rings if i remember correctly. Can anyone tell which it is exactly?

          I'd say a 400mm with a 2x TC. There's definitely a TC on it though

I think its the 500, because of the size of the widest ring. I don't think it has a TC.

Just behind the filter holder, there is a seam that is where lens stops and TC begins...

And it is 2x TC, 1,4x TC is considerably shorter

It's a 500 f/4L IS based on the position of the red "L" designator.

                  600 f/4 L IS

                  400 f/4 L IS

As you can see, it's much closer to the last black ring on the 500.
