  • Air to Air Photography

Noticed that looking at the most popular photos for teh last 2 weeks, the Vast Majority of the most popular pics are air to air. Are we setting a new standard here and making ground shots obsolete

Oh great ... so now instead of people moaning about needing expensive cameras, they'll be complaining about not having an aircraft.

Perhaps a new forum is required so people can discuss the merits of various aircraft as camera ships

        Cheers,

        Colin

Yes not having a good air to air platform available all the time is a bitch. I hate having to go through all the emergency egress training just so I can use the military's F-16s and F-18s as camera ships.

Might as well waste the taxpayers money on camera ships instead of my own.

Neville - somehow I think the sympathy factor for your hardships is verging on non-existent

Glenn - here's your emergency egress training for the stearman:

                  Colin,

My Emergency Egress Checklist for the Stearman Differs:

                  1. Roll Inverted.
                  2. Release Seat Belt.

Maybe it varies for different models.

Well that's better than when I was in a PC9 and as I lifted the Hassleblad to my face the strap was jammed on something, so I gave it a jerk and still nothing. So I looked down to see the camera strap jagged on the Ejection handle.

First and last time I ever flew with a camera Strap.

Sounds like a good time for a wrist strap.

Why does the PC9 need an ejection seat?

Good Question, Why does any aircraft need an ejection seat for that matter. However in the PC9s defence, while it isn't as fast as a macchi MB326H, it's can out perform one. As a high end trainer, i guess it is anticipated that it would sometime get into an irecoverable attitude and would come in handy.

Also may have been a profitable factor to include as well. In any case, it has saved a few lives.

Aside from the safety aspect, the whole point of aircraft like the PC-9 and Tucano is to provide a training environment as close to that of font line aircraft as possible.

                              Cheers,
