    Glenn - believe me they can get into what is known as a "departure". This was demonstrated to me unintentionally when we were doing a photo shoot of a Pig from a PC-9 out of Sale.

    It was hilarious, we were in a slight dive and he was nose high, flaps and slats out and he even put the gear down. The pilot, who was one of those killed in Malaysia a couple of years back, then said "You think this is good, just watch this" and he cleaned up, plugged in the burner and then dissapeared. Still got some great shots before we drifted into his jetwash and the reality of a "departure" was shown.

      Yep, as an ex airforce photographer I have seen more than enough of the consequences of aircraft making sudden departures from controlled flight. Sadly, an ejection seat wasn't even enough then. At one stage I swore they would never ever get me into a Winjeel
